Bambino Shower

New bit of illustration work for a friend who organised a family baby shower.

The illustration was used on place names, postcards and was also framed and given as a gift to the mum to be.

The Headspace website

I came across Headspace’s fantastic website after recently checking out Sally Illustrations blog. She has just done a really nice illustration for them and you can
see it here.

Aside from Sally brill piece I checked out their site too and was amazed by all the really cool illustration they use.

The illustrator commissioned to do the work was Cristina Guitian and you can see her Headspace work and more on her blog.

The Headspace site is about learning how to meditate in a more “practical, accessible, bite-sized way”. The site has lots of tips and tools to help you along your way. There’re also lots of events which people can attend too. Check out their events page for more info.

Being an illustrator myself I’m always looking out for new and exciting illustration. I’m also interested in how illustration is being used in the online media. I like this site in particular as the illustrations are  info graphical in nature and explain to the reader the messages and meanings behind Headspace’s work. I also love how Cristina has used graph paper textures, strong colours, arrows and simple outlines of figures and objects in the work.

In conclusion the Headspace site is a great example of how web design and illustration can work very well hand in hand. I love the aesthetics of illustration in websites design and feel it brings a whole new dimension to web design.

Extreme sheep herding – Collie style

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I saw this clip of “Extreme sheep herding” by the The Baaa – Studs on You Tube over the weekend. Its amazing! Just watch the clip and you’ll see what I mean…

The sheep shape made from sheep is great and the fireworks at the end are genus.

Lets not forget the true stars of the show though, the beautiful Border Collies that managed to keep the sheep in their flocks and herd them around the field to create these extraordinary images.

I love Border Collies!!
