Spring is definitely in the air and I can’t help but notice so many arts and craft sites, shops and Facebook fan pages full of beautiful works of art.
The pastel colours, flowery patterned fabric and drift wood that feature in some of my favourite pieces have all been carefully put together by some very clever designers. There’re just so many talented artists out there who are making/stitching/building and collaging gorgeous things at the moment!
Here are a selection of my favourite artists that I have been lucky enough to stumble upon lately. I hope you like them as much as I do!
Kirsty Elson Designs

Kirsty Elson is a fascinating artist based down in Cornwall. Her work is very much inspired by the coast and lots of her work incorporates beautiful pieces of driftwood and other found objects that she finds washed up along the shoreline.
As well as her driftwood pieces she also produces work using her trusty sewing machine and has created lovely greeting cards, baby mobiles and decorations that can be hung from trees, door knobs and other places around the home.
Here are a few images of Kirsty’s work.

dots and spots
dots and spots is the brain child of designer Becky Peabody. Becky works from her inspirational studio in deepest Somerset where she creates wonderful designs using torn paper, fabric and ribbon, collaging elements together to create her artwork. She sells a variety of products on her online shop such as greeting cards, pictures, gifts, prints and much more. She also stocks her goodies in independent shops around the UK.
I love how Becky teams fabric and flat collage together creating some great illustration pieces which have narratives intertwined within them.
Take a look at some more pieces I really love below.

Jenny Arnott Textiles
Jenny Arnott is a textile design also based in Somerset. Her work mailny consists of machine embroidery and appliqué, creating soft furnishings, buttons, badges and textile art. Each piece produced is unique and no two look the same. Her work is very illustrative in nature and also full of detail. The patterned fabric and use of colour in her work brings each piece to life and highlights the intricate nature of her work.
I particularly love her cupcake and nautical badges and buttons.
