Coloured Matter exhibition by Helen Shaddock

My dear friend Helen Shaddock recently sent me an email with a few pics from her current exhibition “Coloured Matter” at Here Gallery, Bristol. It’s a shame I can’t get across to see the work in person but the images she sent have givenĀ me a good sense of what the show is all about.

I love how Helen constantly develops her work and style, pushing boundaries and perceptions in every aspect of her work.

Each piece in her “Coloured Matter” exhibition is carefully considered creating a body of work which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also well thought out and planned.

I love the hand drawn studies Helen has created of the sculptures which she often does after making 3D pieces. The carefully consideration of her mark making and precise use of form and colour give her work a whole new dimension.

The exhibition runs until 9th July 2011 at theĀ Here Gallery, 108 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3RU.

You can follow Helen’s blog for more info about this exhibition and others and also see more examples of her work on her website.
