Extreme sheep herding – Collie style

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I saw this clip of “Extreme sheep herding” by the The Baaa – Studs on You Tube over the weekend. Its amazing! Just watch the clip and you’ll see what I mean…

The sheep shape made from sheep is great and the fireworks at the end are genus.

Lets not forget the true stars of the show though, the beautiful Border Collies that managed to keep the sheep in their flocks and herd them around the field to create these extraordinary images.

I love Border Collies!!

Wicker on wheels

Last weekend I was lucky enough to go along to Goodwood Festival of Speed in deepest darkest Sussex.

The festival is a massive celebration of motorsport history and culture and is one of the greatest in the world.

Owners of racing cars (old and new), bikes, hot rods and anything speedy go along to the 3 day festival and exhibit their pride and joy as well as drive them (at some speed) up the famous “hill climb” in the grounds of Goodwood House. The whole idea is that the spectators can get up close and personal with the cars of their dreams and see them being driven at speed round the circuit.

I saw and heard a lot of cars while I was there but my favorites had to be these little beauties:

My boyfriend, Rob, later told me that they are all Fiat’s from the 50′s and 60′s and I think they are the cutest things ever!

I absolutely love the wicker interiors and the retro paint work and finishes. The pastel colours and chrome set the little cars off a treat and the best bit has to be the anchor emblem on the front of this one:

Chicken avec en tea towel

This month my creative outlet has been to make a chicken out of a tea towel! (Some may doubt this is creative at all but have a go!)

I was first shown this feat of imagination by my mum when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Me and my sis were amazed by what mum produced from a ordinary kitchen tea towel. Oh yes!

To create your very own “Chicken avec en tea towel” all you need is:

1. A tea towel – the jazzier the pattern the better
2. Hands x2
3. A table top

It’s that simple! Follow the instructions below:

Please note no tea towels were harmed in the making of this piece.

All the T’s in the trees

It was my birthday back in March and the fantastic
Top Left Design took me and the team (and some other tree huggers) to Go Ape. It was a fantastic 3 hours spent clambering around the death defying tree lined obstacle course (and also a good team building experience for the Top Lefters!).

We went to the new Black Park Go Ape center which is one of Go Apes many giant tree obstacle course around the UK.

We were all strapped up in our harnesses and then taken off to our training ground before our session began. Once we had mastered the “closed and opposed” technique we were all allowed to go bananas in the trees.

Here are some pics to prove we all a great time monkeying around!

It was such a laugh and it was great to try something new and exhilarating. One of the scariest, yet best bits, was the massive swing we had to make into a giant cargo net. Amazing and so funny at the same time!

Take a look at what Top Left Design had to say about our bit of tree action too.
