“Art in My Coffee” website

Over the past few days I have been doing some research in to cool food website designs and I came across this beauty!

The site is called “Art in My Coffee” and it’s a Tumblr blog which features latte art from around the world. Art in My Coffee was founded by Jina Bolton, and the site was designed by Meagan Fisher.

The site design is clean and uses subtle colours as to not distract from the photos of the coffee cup art. It also has some nice touches such as the animating logo when you hover over it.

Here are some of my favourite “Art in my coffee” photos from the site:

A great site design for a great cause!

Before I start, “Don’t try this yourself“, The Thames (and rivers in general) can be very dangerous and are not a place to swim!! Walliams is constantly monitored and has the best team around him to help with the challenge.

Now i’ve mentioned the above I feel I can now say that i’m one of millions of people who have been caught up in all the excitement surrounding David Walliams challenge to swim the Thames. I’ve been following his progress on the news and also on the Sport Relief site, which I LOVE!

The site is well designed and easy to navigate giving you lots of information about Walliams challenge, how much has been raised, and even has a tracking map so you can see his progress. With regular tweets from the team and site updates, fans and fundraisers can cheer, wave and follow Walliams ever stroke.

Not only is the site design great but its also for a fantastic cause. Sport relief aims to “get people active, raise cash and change lives” and there are lots of fundraiser held around the UK all year. The money raised goes to Comic Relief who in turn help people in the UK and abround who are leading tough and challanging lives.

The site uses both illustration and photography in its design and there are lots of small details such as bubbles, seagulls, the London skyline and the Thames river bed. I love the colours and the good use of copywriting that runs thought out the site such as “About our soggy legend” and “Where’s Walliams”.

Sponsor Walliams here and check out his progress so far on the Sport Relief site.

The wonderful Wolf & Badger website

I was on Twitter a few days ago and clicked onto
Wolf & Badger’s page where I found a link to their fantastic website, www.wolfandbadger.com. I adore the mini set structures they have created for each section of the site and the real sense of atmosphere each page has.

Wolf & Badger are a lifestyle boutique in London’s Notting Hill selling and promoting fashion, accessories and homewares from designers around the UK. Check out their blog for their latest news.

Biscuiteers – “Why send flowers when you can send biscuits?”

The Biscuiteers website is not only anoter great design by the guys and gals at Big Fish, but the concept is fab too!

“Why send flowers when you can send biscuits?”.

What a great idea! If you have a gift to send, why not make it buscuits that your friends and family can enjoy over a nice cuppa Rosie Lee (tea, for those of you not acquaint to cockney rhyming slang!).

However, even I would find it hard to dunk these beauties.

The guys at Biscuiteers can bake up a storm (literally if you wanted) and create biscuits in all shapes, themes and colours.

They have designs such as “Udles of Poodles”, “New kid on the block”, “Green Fingers”, “Flower Power” and so on!

Here are a few pics of their delicious looking biscuits.

So the next time you have a gift to buy, think of the guys at Bisciteers and their lovely treats!

Cornishware by T.G. Green & Co.

The good people at Big Fish saw my blog post “Time for tea and cereal” and left a lovely comment. They mentioned that I should take a look at a couple of websites they thought I might like. The first was the Cornishware by T.G. Green & Co site .

Big Fish designed the website and there are some lovely touches to it. Such as the gift service page which uses illustrations to show what pieces of Cornishware you receive in each set. The illustrations are very simple and use minimal amounts of mark making to illustrate the items on sale.

I also love the use of rustic photography in the site as they really place emphasis on the blue’s and creams of the ceramics in the shots.

In conclusions the Cornishware by T.G. Green & Co. website is a great example of design and shows a unique way of using informational graphics in a site too. They also have some lovely ceramics in the range, so be sure to drop by the site soon!
